DÓRA BENYÓ

Dóra Benyó (b. 1989, Hungary) lives and works between Brussels and The Hague. Her practice spans painting, video, and performance, drawing on personal and political narratives to explore memory, family histories, and Hungary’s dictatorial past.

Benyó has had solo exhibitions at de boer, Antwerp; The Wunderwall at Gallery Sofie van de Velde, Antwerp; SECONDroom, Antwerp; The Platform, Antwerp; uqbar projectspace, Berlin; AQB Institute, Budapest; and 76,4, Brussels. Group exhibitions include presentations at de boer, Los Angeles and Antwerp; Klauzál 6 projekt space, Budapest; Art Au Centre, Liège; Ada Ventura, Brussels; Red Herring Salon, Antwerp; Gallery Tegenboschvanvreden, Amsterdam; and RAAR, Rotterdam.

Benyó has completed residencies in Berlin, Budapest, Skagaströnd, Amsterdam, and Tsarino, and has received support from the Mondriaan Fund. She received an MFA from Sint Lukas, LUCA School of the Arts, Brussels, and a BFA from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, and studied at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, Budapest.
